Chinese Premier Li Keqiang will pay official visits to Brazil, Colombia, Peru and Chile from May 18 to 26, with focus on deepening the all-round cooperation between China and Latin America.
During his visits, Premier Li will discuss deepening cooperation in such areas as industry and technology, and building free trade agreements, in the principles of mutual trust, reciprocity and learning from each other.
The trade volumes between China and Latin American and the Caribbean countries reached 263.6 billion U.S. dollars in 2014. Brazil, Colombia, Peru and Chile are China's major economic and trade partners in the region.
BRAZIL China's investment in Brazil reached 18.94 billion U.S. dollars by the end of 2014. China has been Brazil’s largest trading partner for the past six years.
COLOMBIA China's trade and economic ties with Colombia have been growing steadily in recent years and the bilateral trade volumes reached 15.64 billion U.S. dollars in 2014.
PERU The Free Trade Pact between China and Peru has been implemented for five years, bearing fruitful results. The bilateral trade volumes reached 14.32 billion U.S. dollars in 2014.
CHILE Chile was the first Latin American country to sign a Free Trade Pact with China in 2005. Bilateral trade volumes stood at 34.1 billion U.S. dollars in 2014.
